Motio

Brief
(Group project) Development an innovative device to enhance spatial awareness for the Deaf Community.
Overview
Initially, we explored a communication aid for Deaf and hearing people but discovered that the Deaf Community deeply values its own culture and language. So, we shifted our focus and developed a device to enhance spatial awareness, particularly for detecting activity behind them, reducing sudden surprises.
Concept
Motion through two proximity sensors records the movements behind the person and send them to the two vibrating motors placed at the side of the ears, which emit varying levels of vibration intensity based on the closeness of the movement.
The prototype, built with Arduino, has proven to be effective.
